It was at the bicycle shop in the Bonnevoie district that we met with Benji Kontz, managing director of the Kontz group and the fourth generation to lead this family business.

The atmosphere was calm as he looked back at the key milestones in the group’s history: from its beginnings in bicycles and motorcycles to its expansion into the automotive sector, and finally the turning point of 2024, marked by a return to two-wheelers and soft mobility.

As the conversation unfolded, he also shared his life story, his childhood, and a few personal anecdotes that left a mark on him.

We then accompanied him to the north of the country – surrounded by nature – in his Airstream. This offered us an opportunity to discuss his passions, which include birdwatching and photography; they reflect the attentive gaze he casts upon the world around him.

He also shared his environmental commitments and spoke of the essential role his family plays in his work-life balance.

An inspiring encounter with a discreet, passionate, and committed man who is now writing a new chapter in the history of his family business.

BIL has been a partner of choice for several decades. There are projects that were carried out quite easily at the time because BIL believed in them. The same could not necessarily be said for other banks. That is why we still maintain good relations today.

Arnold Kontz group Synonymous with mobility since 1917 and long associated with its automotive activities, the Arnold Kontz group is now a market leader in high-end motorcycles and a specialist in high-quality bicycles.
