When excellence changes playing fields (with Samy Picard)

Samy Picard’s career perfectly illustrates this transition. As a former professional athlete, he knew how to take the lessons learnt from his sporting career – discipline, resilience, a taste for hard work and team spirit – and apply them continuously in the world of finance. Today, as Head of Wealth Management Luxembourg at BIL, while remaining inextricably linked to the Luxembourg sports ecosystem as President of the Luxembourg Basketball Federation, he operates in an environment where excellence is cultivated differently, but with the same intensity.

In his management work as well as in his personal life, Samy applies the very same principles that he learnt out on the basketball court: precision, forward thinking, active listening and team spirit. He believes that collective success depends on the commitment of each individual, and he ensures that these values guide the daily work of his employees.
